    <dcite:description descriptionType="Abstract">Der Beitrag zeigt auf, wie der Diskurs über touristische Fernreisen Distanzen und CO2-Ausstoss vergessen lässt. Reiseberichte ebenso wie Reisewerbung verwenden Hochwertwörter, die, ein- gebettet in kommissive Sprechakte, Reisedestinationen als Konsumgüter aus dem Nirgendwo erscheinen lassen. Die Reisediskurse konstruieren sowohl das Reiseziel als auch den Alltag und lassen den Fernurlaub als (liminales) Austreten aus dem Alltag, der realen Geografie und damit auch aus den Umweltbezügen erscheinen.
This article shows how the discourse on long-distance tourism traveling makes distances and CO2 emissions disappear. Travel reports as well as travel ads use positive trigger words. Em- ployed in commissive speech acts, they make travel destinations appear as consumer goods out of nowhere. Travel discourses construct travel destinations as well as everyday life and present long distance travel as a (liminal) escape from everyday life, real geography, and thus also from environmental issues.</dcite:description>
