Digital Classics und quantitative Semantik Charlotte Schubert politische Semantik, Serendipity, Abduktion, String Matching, Topic Modeling, Wordembeddings, Word2Vec, Stylo – Gephi political semantics, abduction Anhand von Fragen zu Konzepten der antiken politischen Semantik, der Zuordnung von Fragmenten und anonymen Texten aus der antiken Historiographie und Literatur wird in dem Beitrag gezeigt, wie Methoden des String Matching von Buchstaben- und Wort-N-Grammen, des Topic Modeling und des Wordembeddings (Word2Vec) sowie verschiedener Visualisierungsmöglichkeiten (Stylo, Gephi) mit hermeneutischen Interpretationen so verbunden werden können, dass die Ergebnisse dieser Methodenverbindung nicht nur zu neuen inhaltlichen Erkenntnissen führen kann, sondern auch für die klassischen Textwissenschaften zu einer+nbsp; erheblichen Erweiterung des Methodenspektrums führt. Diese Perspektivenerweiterung resultiert nicht nur aus Serendipitätsgewinnen, sondern lässt sich auch systematisch durch Abduktion begründen. Based on questions concerning concepts of ancient political semantics, the attribution of fragments and anonymous texts from ancient historiography and literature, the article shows how methods of string matching of letter and word n-grams, topic modeling and word embedding (Word2Vec), as well as various visualization options (Stylo, Gephi) can be combined with hermeneutic interpretations in such a way that the results of this combination of methods can not only lead to new content-related findings, but also to a considerable expansion of the spectrum of methods for classical text sciences. This broadening of perspective results not only from gains in serendipity, but can also be systematically justified by abduction.
