Author Biography

  • Mykhailo Beliavskyi, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz

    Mykhailo Beliavskyi is a PhD student at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, exploring Russian references in Russophone fan fiction on German fandoms. He earned his BA in translatology and literary studies at Moscow State Linguistic University. During his MA at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg, he shifted his focus entirely to literature and intercultural studies. In his final project, he examined the Russian reception of Patrick Süskind, including fandom and fan fiction. The latter has since become his main area of interest, alongside Russian studies, Slavic studies, German studies, and intercultural relations.
