| Shrnutí: | Im Folgenden reflektiere ich meine wissenschaftliche Sozialisation im Spiegel der Erneuerungen durch computergestützte Textanalyse. Dabei wird der Einfluss intrinsischer und extrinsischer Motivationen auf den wissenschaftlichen Werdegang erörtert. Als grundlegend wird die zunehmende Bedeutung quantitativer Verfahren für das hermeneutische Interesse diskutiert. Der Innovationsdruck in der Wissenschaft, die Rolle interdisziplinärer Zusammenarbeit und die Bedeutung von Qualitätsstandards wird angesprochen, aber weniger als problematisch denn vielmehr als inspirierend eingestuft. Abschließend folgen Gedanken zum Selbst- und Fremdbild eines Linguisten im Spannungsfeld von Methodendienstleister und Weltdeuter sowie die Herausforderungen, denen sich die scientific community heute im Kontext neuer Technologien stellen muss. Die Schlussfolgerung unterstreicht die Bedeutung einer ausgewogenen Mischung aus intrinsischer und extrinsischer Motivation für wissenschaftlichen Erfolg.
In the following, I reflect on my academic socialisation in the light of innovations through computer-aided text analysis. The influence of intrinsic and extrinsic motivations on the scientific career is discussed. The increasing importance of quantitative methods for hermeneutic interest is discussed as fundamental. The pressure to innovate in science, the role of interdisciplinary collaboration and the importance of quality standards are addressed, but are categorised as inspiring rather than problematic. Finally, thoughts on the self-image and external image of a linguist in the field of tension between methodological service provider and world interpreter as well as the challenges that the scientific community has to face today in the context of new technologies follow. The conclusion emphasises the importance of a balanced mixture of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation for scientific success. |
