Implizite Normativität und Komplexitätsreduktion in der medizinischen Wissensproduktion

Abstract

Medizinische Wissensproduktion und -kommunikation werden aus wissenssoziologischer Perspektive vor dem Hintergrund einer vielschichtigen Komplexitätsreduktion konstruiert. Trotz des Anspruchs wissenschaftlicher Neutralität und Objektivität sind diese von impliziten Werten und Relevanzsetzungen geprägt. Ziel des vorliegenden Beitrags ist es, diese implizite Normativität medizinischer Wissenschaft explizit zu machen und die mit ihr verbundene Deutungshoheit in Bezug auf akzeptierte und marginalisierte Wissensformen sowie Strategien der Legitimation von Geltungsansprüchen offenzulegen. Die Implikationen dessen werden in diesem Beitrag auf drei Ebenen erörtert: (1) Prämissen der Wissensproduktion; (2) die Konstruktion einer problematischen Gesundheit; und (3) epistemische Konflikte im Kontext von Gesundheit und medizinischer Wissenslogik. In einem abschließenden Fazit wird die Idee einer integrativen epistemischen Öffnung diskutiert.

From the perspective of the sociology of knowledge, medical knowledge production and communication are constructed against the background of a multi-layered reduction of complexity. Despite the claim of scientific neutrality and objectivity, these are characterised by implicit values and relevance settings. The aim of this contribution is to make this implicit normativity of medical science explicit and to reveal the interpretative sovereignty associated with it in relation to accepted and marginalised forms of knowledge as well as strategies for legitimising claims to validity. The implications of this are discussed in this article on three levels: (1) premises of knowledge production; (2) the construction of problematic health; and (3) epistemic conflicts in the context of health and medical knowledge logic. In conclusion, the idea of an integrative epistemic opening is discussed.
